13 years and counting

13 years and 3 perfect little boys later .......

It is hard to believe time has passed so quickly. I could go on and on about how great Corey is, what an amazingly patient husband he is and what a fantastic father he is - but let me just sum it up by the simple statement that I married my best friend. There is no one else I would rather have by my side.

His Royal Cuteness is 8 months old!

Try as I might - he figured the crawling thing out on his own. Nothing is safe in the house, especially Lola's water bowl.

Fast little sucker.

Words of Wisdom by: Colby

Don't cry over - dead animals.
If you can't stand the heat - I jump in a lake.

The grass is always - brown or green.
Dead -- Alive ..... See the difference
Money is the root of - buying stuff.

Don't count your chickens before - lunch.

My personal favorite.....

People who live in glass houses - are cool.

There is a very faint picture of a glass house above.

Worn out.

Corey has Ryan during church so I can go boss little kids around in Primary. Ryan was not in his most helpful moods today. We have a little recuperating to do.

The cold has killed his braincells.

That is the only explanation I can think of for why Colby thinks this is a day for swimming. The cold hose water has just barely finished filling the pool and in he goes.

On the flip side. I bought a solar blanket (looks like a big blue blanket of bubble wrap) to cover the pool this year. It will protect it from debris and supposedly keep it up to 15 degrees warmer by trapping the heat. We have had it on the pool for the last couple of hours and it does work - the top 3" of the water are very warm, it is once you go below that where the hypothermia sets in.

Bring on the sunshine!

Well, it is that time of year again. The time where we push the summer in early and fill our pool up somewhat prematurely so we can swim in the freezing cold water but trick ourselves into thinking it is summer. It is a whopping 63F outside and Colby is ready to don his swimsuit already. Now we can sit patiently for our very slow water pressure to take 2 days to fill this baby up.

It may not be warm enough to swim, but it definitely is warm enough to hang out outside.

Why oh why?

Why oh why would anyone have a baby without a much older sibling to care for said baby? I am glad I planned it this way - I am so smart.

Seriously though. Luke is a godsend and could not be more adored by his younger brother(s).

Soccer Superstar

Colby's spring soccer season has come to an end. Whoever thought spring-time was a good season for soccer was out of their ever lov'n mind! It was cold, windy and more than one game was cancelled because of snow. Colby had a fantastic time and I told myself every game that that is what mattered. Chanted it over and over in my near numb head, with my near numb hands holding onto my popsicle baby.

Seriously though, he did have fun and played great! Another star in the making. And a mighty handsome one at that.

Where did that pesky dog go?

Oohhh - I want that camera. I want. I want. I want.

Jack Pot

We went to Trafalga the other day to visit the arcade. While Corey, Luke and I were very busily trying to win 46 tickets on the Deal or No Deal arcade game we look around the corner and there is Colby sitting in front of some game and has hit the jackpot - 608 tickets. It is spitting out a massive pile of tickets and Colby is grinning from ear to ear. Our 46 tickets looked pretty lame compared to his winnings.

All in all our winnings totalled around 1100 tickets. We thought we were going to strike it big at the prize counter. Boy were we wrong. A cheap little Nemo stuffed animal and a bottle of goo. Whooppee! Colby thought they were the coolest toys ever. We keep our expectations low.
Colby is letting his Nemo hear the audio from his earphones so he wouldn't feel left out. Swell.
