Stars and Champs

Luke and his team getting high fives and Championship shirts from the Coaches.

The Championship team and their Coach to the right, just behind them in the blue shirt. The boys called him Junior LeGrand Latte, Junior for short.

The line up of All Stars.

These are the All Stars being awarded by the Head Coach.

The All Stars were chosen collectively by all the Coaches and Head Coach. Based on their whole weeks worth of games and their exemplary play.

Luke and his dorm roommate, Espen. Luke and Espen are buddies and on the same Storm Soccer team here at home. Luke and Espen's teams actually played each other for the Championship title.

p.s. Me being a stellar Mom and all walked into the awards assembly just after Luke had received his awards. I was 5 minutes late and they started the awards 10 minutes early. Espen's mom, Tara, snapped all these photos of Luke for me - thanks Tara!!

At long last

My baby is home!

I won't lie. It was a hard week. I thought about him constantly and waited anxiously for each of his calls home. I missed him, Corey missed him, Colby missed him and Lola was beside herself all week.

He is home and had a great time!

They played soccer all day long. They ate some meals on campus at an all you can eat cafeteria (ice cream heaven), they even had one meal over at the BYU football stadium. They went to a water park, had nightly dorm floor devotionals, night games/activities and pretty much wore themselves out. See picture below.

To top it all off - Luke's team won the championship and Luke himself was named an All-Star!! ~There were about 8 All Stars for his division, 9 teams. I have some pictures of him receiving his award to come later.

Did I mention how worn out he was? Seriously. This is on the way home.

On a side note....

This little rugrat took a 5 1/2 hour nap today! He was checked on constantly to make sure he was breathing, but needed some serious REM - I guess. When it was time to wake up, he had to work hard to come out of that deep sleep. He had to be nudged, not so gently, to join the living. I thought he was good on naps the rest of the day, but I guess I was wrong. This was on the way home from soccer. He is fussy and ready for bed right now and he still has an hour to go.

My Little Lukie

My sweet little Lukie is growing up. When and why did this happen?

Corey dropped him off at an all week over night soccer camp at BYU this morning. He is 5 minutes from home and gone for 4 days - 3 nights and I about bawled when he called to check in at his lunch break this morning. He had been gone all of 2 1/2 hours and I broke down when I heard his voice. I am a wreck. He is having a blast and I am trying to keep it together.

A wee bit of heaven
drifted from above.
A handful of happiness,
a heart full of Love.

~ This post is humbly submitted by one very tired mother to one very fussy baby.
