He likes what?

How we stumbled across the fact that pickles are one of Ryan's most favorite foods escapes my memory. All I know is that he LOVES them. He will suck every last drop of juice out of them. It is a beasty smelly thing to clean up, but that is the price we pay for a quiet baby.

Ugh. That pretty much sums it up. Darn it all - the video is on its side -sorry for the kink in your neck.

Is it Monday yet?

Our weekends are not a time to relax. If we want to relax and slow down we head back to work on Monday and the boys go back to their school schedule. Between soccer games, football games, practices, birthday parties, barbeques, church meetings, etc. - I am always ready for Monday to come. This weekend was no different.

Corey participated in 1/2 Ironman-distant race in Provo yesterday morning (1.2 mile swim, 56 mile bike, 13 mile run). He checked in at about 5:30am started the race at 7am finished up 6 hours later drove straight home to shower and then right over to the soccer field just in time for Luke's soccer game to start. Meanwhile the boys and I are back at home. Luke is mowing lawns with Chris, Colby is helping with chores and cleaning, I am cleaning, grocery shopping, chasing after Grumpster McGee (aka Ryan) and then getting Luke over to the field an hour before the game to warm-up. Our day continued non-stop from there until we finally crashed at bedtime. Luke had it right when he said that we keep waiting for less busy days and weekends but so far they just keep getting busier. It must be a hazard of having children.

Corey was on his own at the race so we don't have any photos of it, but here are a few snaps of Luke's soccer game.

Birthday Barbeque

We do like our parties here in the Norman household. We celebrated Colby's 8th birthday at the house yesterday with a bang of a party. Complete with a massive 22ft tall 50 ft long water slide, swimming, grilled sliders, ice cream, lots of friends and family - and just a few presents.

There were quite a few photos taken so I have put the link to all of them right here...
Click on me!

p.s. We had a primary party here in the morning as well so there is a mix of pictures with kids from the ward and neighborhood. We partied like rock stars from 10am until 7pm when we finally shut the water off and went to bed exhausted!

My Little Rugrat

A little bit of what "we" have been up to lately.

A few pre-soccer tournament game time photos. When we drive together to soccer games we have to show up early for warm-ups. So Ryan and I are hanging out in the car waiting, waiting, waiting.....

Someone should take note of my magnificent mothering skills. Playing in the drivers seat of the car and now rolls of toilet paper on the bathroom floor, but seriously - do you know how long this will keep him busy?! That compared to the quick clean up is something I have weighed and have come to the conclusion that it is worth the extra 30 minutes of quiet time.

Soccer season in full force.

The pre-season soccer tournaments have begun. Luke (and Corey) were in a tournament last week in Orem and in another one up in the Park City area this weekend. They took second place in Orem and are heading into the semi-finals and finals today in Park City.

The boys are playing well. Corey is a very animated and lively coach, to say the least, but he does well with the boys and they respond well to him. Whatever they are doing is working. Keep it up boys!

Such a polite little boy.

After dinner tonight, Ryan decided he was done, so he very nicely threw his food onto the ground on upon my walls - he was probably looking after Lola and how hungry she must be, what a sweetheart.

He then preceded to tell me in his most quiet of voices that he wanted out of his highchair, my little darling.

After a very quick bath - do to his less than thrilled attitude towards cleanliness -he politely informed me that he in fact was ready for an early bedtime. I saw his wisdom and agreed.

10 months old? Let's do a quick count until my sweet little boy leaves the nest and goes on his mission. 18 years, 1 month, and 21 days? Piece of cake. My little precious.
