A slip of the tongue.

Corey was home for lunch today when Colby came up to him and asked him what a whore was. Corey quite taken aback said it was not a nice thing to say and/or talk about and he did not want to explain what it was. Colby was a little bit confused but took what Corey said. Corey asked him where he heard that and Colby said from Luke. Uh oh - somebody's in trouble.
At dinner when Colby was away from the table Corey very calmly asked Luke if he knew what a whore was. Luke was very confused and claimed he had no knowledge of what that word meant. Corey proceeded to tell him that Colby said he had heard it from Luke. After a moment of confusion Luke said "Oh - I told Colby that the movie Tremors was a horror movie, but that is all." Horror?! I laughed so hard. Colby had asked Corey what a horror was! Such a relief. When Colby came back we explained what a horror movie was and he was relieved to know that he was not in trouble for asking.

many times here in the south people have said things to me that sounded 100% obscene only to discover it was just the accent confusing me. shame on you and corey for thinking lukey would even utter such a word, considering how shy and modest he is about that stuff! but in this new super-open-with-the-kids parenting style of yours, I'm surprised he didn't launch into a clinical explanation of prostitution and its many ills. :)
