Conference Weekend

Conference Weekend seems to equal projects. Last Spring Conference we moved into the new house. Fall Conference we painted the new house. This Spring Conference we put together a new loft bed for Luke. This coming Fall Conference I will be birthing. :-)

The new loft bed came out of necessity for Luke having a smaller room and getting to share it with an increasingly growing puppy. The bed is from IKEA. It has a desk and book shelf under the bed which we filled with his books, alarm clock, radio, etc. It has been the obsession of both boys the past few days. They both climb into the "loft" and Luke reads to Colby. Poor Lola sits on the ground staring at them whining that she can't be up there with them. Poor sad spoiled Lola.

Completely off subject....

I should teach Colby that it is ok for a woman to call herself fat but it is NEVER ok to agree with her or regurgitate the word fat in a sentence describing her (If he has any questions about this subject he can just ask Corey).

I have joked about my fat stomach and having to buy stretchy pants to fit. Well, we were walking upstairs to bed last night and Colby was walking in front of me and I was lamenting the fact that my sweet Colby is too big for me to pick up and cuddle. I said "Colby, How come you are too big for me to pick up and carry anymore? It's not fair." He turns to me points at my stomach and says "It's not me, it's your fat stomach." Corey had to jump around the corner to keep the laugh under control. I just stood there dumb-founded, not knowing if I should smack the kid or laugh.

I say smack him. If you don't his wife will someday. Better he learns at an early age. :)

Yup. Gotta learn 'em early.

P.S. Your projects are WAY tougher than what I remember around the Rose house . . . making beds and babies goes far beyond shoe-shining!
