Scout Cake Auction

The scouts in are ward do a fantastic breakfast every year followed by a fun cake auction as a fundraiser. The scouts and their families make cakes of all different sorts and flavors. Then the ward members bid on them. This year Colby was dead set on this cute tennis cake, made by our tennis loving neighbors. He was so giddy to start bidding and eagerly awaited this cake in the line-up for bidding. When it came he started throwing his hand up for any dollar amount they said, I let him get to a certain amount and then cut him off and he was outbid by another person. You should have seen how crushed he was. Sad - I know. I told him he could try to bid for another cake or we could make a tennis cake of our own if he would help me. That helped a little bit. Towards the end of the auction the family (our neighbors the Felix's) that had bought the tennis cake had bought like 4 or 5 other cakes to help out the scouts and the mom didn't want to take home that many cakes. So one of their cute sons brought the tennis cake over to Colby and asked if he would like it. Oh! How he smiled! So cute and SO NICE!

Thanks a million to the Felix's! You made Collby's week!

Happy Anniversary! Almost like I remembered on my own? Does the cake taste good? Would I like it? :)
