Who doesn't love Sunday afternoons?

I must add, that I took these pictures after waking up from my position on the couch. Colby, I am sure is somewhere upstairs asleep or watching his latest cartoon - he is quiet, that is all I care right now.

Real Salt Lake

Luke and Corey got some tickets to the RSL game from their club soccer organization the HC Storm. We met some friends there and Luke got to participate in the Parade of Kings - where soccer teams show up in uniform and parade out onto the field for the national anthem. It was a great game and the RSL won which made it even more fun! I still think soccer games are way too long..... but I did manage to have a little bit of fun.

Oh! I want to eat this one up sometimes, only sometimes.

Thank goodness this one has his phone with him at the game. After the Parade of Kings he walked off the field with the large group of teams, smiled at Corey and kept on walking. Corey tried to follow and find him to bring him back to our seats, but to no avail. I tracked him down with his phone and was able to meet him and bring him back to sit with us. He was just chill'n with some other players watching the game and figured we would find him at some point.

I couldn't believe this one. He came back from looking for the Luke and when I asked where Luke was - he shrugged his shoulders! Um, ok. It all worked out in the end AND Corey bought us all ice cream so we can be friends again. xoxo

Clean Your Room Day - round 2

A quick report...

Yesterday was Friday. Clean-your-room day. I had been warning Colby all week that it was coming. I get home from work and it is ALL DONE! It was perfect and he just smiled at me.

He can be good when he wants to be. Amazing.

A day well spent?

Friday is "clean your room day". The boys know it all week long, on Friday you will need to clean your room. No problem for Luke - it takes just a bit of tidying up and putting laundry away.
Colby is a different story completely. His room is a mine field of clothes and toys. Everywhere. It stresses Corey to the hilt.

Last Friday Colby managed to get DeeDee out to the house to help him. This Friday DeeDee was working and Colby on his own. I told him after he got started and half way done - then I would come up and help finish up the last of putting the laundry away. THAT WAS 9 HOURS AGO! The deal is that he has to stay in his room until the room is clean. He spent 9 hours in his room. He took a nap, he listened to music, he played with his toys, etc. I did let him come out for lunch and dinner. I kept checking on him to see if he needed my help yet, but he just said "Nah, I don't feel like cleaning. I am fine."
I am not complaining, it has been very nice and quiet around here today. Colby in his room all day and Luke out with friends or downstairs on the Wii.
I swear the ONLY reason Colby actually "felt" like cleaning up his room was that Corey, Luke, Lola and I are going over to the park to play some soccer (I will be watching of course) after dinner. The only way Colby could go with us was to have his room clean.

He was done in 15 minutes.

Stubborn little child.

Talk about a nightmare.

The boys and I went to Ikea today to scout out some baby stuff after I had horrid dreams all night long about babies, lots of babies, and me not having a thing for them. I didn't have anything for them and when I went to the store I couldn't find the onesies or the diapers, etc. Ugh.
So we are at Ikea and I head to the bathroom (Again?! As Colby likes to ask.) After the bathroom we proceed to walk around the kid/baby section for a good 20+ minutes until some nice lady stops me frantically to tell me that my skirt was tucked into my underwear!
I am hoping that the skirt is so fluffy that the other ruffles covered the gap where my rear was hanging out. Sheesh.

FatCats Bowling!

The boys are signed up for the free kids bowling at FatCats and today was our first time going. Colby had bumpers, Luke did not. Surprisingly, Luke got a spare almost every time he bowled winning him the first game. Colby went granny-style and beat Luke the second game. Loads of fun AND right next to Costa Vida - hello chips and queso, come to mommy.

They turned on the disco, black lights and music while we were there which the boys were over the moon about.

FatCats has lots of fun and great deals going on this summer - you can check them out at www.fatcatsfun.com

I've trained them well.

The boys know well enough by now, that when I drop something I don't bend down to get it. I just keep on walking and THEY bend down to pick it up. I don't even have to say anything. They are also very willing to offer their arms as assistance when I need help getting up and they are my little runners. Anything in the house and I send them. I am spoiled - I know it.
Colby asked me how come it was so hard to bend down and pick up things. I told him because the baby was in my way. He asked if it was because I was afraid to squish the baby - I responded "No, the baby is squishing me."
I made both the boys put soccer/basketballs under their shirts and wear it around for a little bit while they tried to tie their shoes or pick up something off the ground. It was very amusing and enlightening to them on what it is like for me. Colby wore his "baby" around for a while - you should have seen him trying to sit at the computer table. His baby got in the way of leaning forward, or sitting comfortably while he was watching. He fidgeted around with positions for 5 minutes until he got fed up and pushed his baby bump over to the side of his body and used it as an arm rest while he played his game. Very funny kid.

It is all fun and games until someone gets hurt.... When Colby was done with his baby, he BIRTHED it. Very gross sounds and a little disturbing on the whole squatting process he went through. Oh man.

Hi Kimmie!

Corey's mom, Kim, was appalled when he went out in a snow storm to grill our dinner during the winter. Well, tonight Corey put some chicken on the grill and came back inside. All of a sudden the heavens opened and it started pouring rain, hailing and thundering. There were rivers running down the windows. It was crazy and only lasted for 20 minutes, which happened to be the few minutes that Corey's dinner was on the grill.

You can't see the rain very well in this shot because I was safely inside the house taking the photo - but you get the idea.

What a man!

I was ticked - this was the only clear day they forecasted for near 2 weeks. I was outside today cleaning the pool, lightly watering some flowers, hanging some blankets out to dry and other sunny day stuff - just to have it all ruined by some freak and very strong 20 minute storm! aargh!

Bean Museum with Katy B!

My friend from High School works at the Bean Museum and gave us the back stage tour of some live reptiles they have at the museum. It was feeding time which the lucky little boys got to participate in. They helped feed dead mice to some sort of large lizard. They saw a snake get fed, and they helped feed Otis the Turtle, just for starters.

This is Megan another nice person at the museum that was helping the boys feed the animals, since apparently Katy B does not touch them - I don't blame her. Luke was standing so far away from snake that I couldn't get him in the shot, this is his very nervous smile while he touches the snake. Colby was disappointed they didn't have a 20ft Anaconda snake. Bummer.

Feeding Otis the Turtle.

Otis made a bee-line for the way of the door and Luke was in the way. You would have thought there was a gigantic snake or spider coming his way the way he kept trying to back up and get out of Otis' direction. Colby was more worried about his bare toes being next on the lunch menu as Otis got very near to his feet.

A very spiky lizard. That Colby wanted as close of look as he could get.

Colby and his BFF holding hands.
Colby was very interested in the dead Gila Monster, a very poisonous lizard, that was on display. Megan and Katy chuckled and told him "Sorry, no poisonous reptiles" when he lamented the fact that it was dead.

Thanks Katy B and Megan - it was awesome!

You gotta be kidding me?!

I go to the Doctor yesterday and he tells me that the baby is going to double his size in the next four weeks and then double his size yet again in the four weeks following that. Oh, and he is going to get much stronger and squished in there so the kicks and punches are going to get worse. Has it been so long that I have forgotten all the joys that come along with multiplying and replenishing the earth? I have said all along that I was tricked - I put full blame on Corey for what I am going through :-).

DeeDee - This one's for you!

It is Saturday morning and a little chillier than it has been the last couple of days. The outside temp. is in the 70's, nice, but not hot by any means. I was talking to DeeDee on the phone this morning and she mentioned that when she had felt how cold it was and that surely the boys wouldn't swim today -right? I assured her that no, it in fact was probably too cold and the boys would not get near the water, especially since the water temp. is hovering near 65degrees. Corey, the boys and I all go out back to mow the grass, water plants, pick weeds, etc. The boys disappear and re-emerge with their suits on and proceed to launch themselves into the pool. Seriously?! They have been out there for 30 minutes now swimming. I am just waiting for the blue lips and the warm shower request. Sorry DeeDee, I thought we were on the same page.

p.s. This video is from my phone - so the quality is lower and meant for a smaller viewing area. I really should do the video's on an actual camera - but I am way too lazy. sorry.

Spread a Little Love

The boys baked some sugar cookies today and then frosted them. Now, I was raised by a women who believed that the cookie or piece of cake or cinnamon roll was just a vehicle for the frosting. The more frosting the better - it should leave teeth marks when you bite into it. I don't know where I have gone wrong with these boys. I can see the cookie through the frosting - now that is just plain wrong.

Luke said too much frosting was gross. WHAT?! I don't even know who you are anymore.

Colby did redeem himself by sneaking little bites of cookie dough when my back was turned. That's my boy. When Colby was a baby, Luke and I made a batch of cookie dough - I don't think we baked any of them. Corey came home to find Luke serving me spoonfuls of dough while I fed Colby a bottle in the nursery. Oops.

World Trivia

I am the worst at world geography. Seriously, I can't even figure out all the different little towns and cities in Utah. The boys are always asking where some country in the world is and I just laugh at their silly question. No, seriously - I tell I have no idea and to go ask their dad. As much as I am forgetful about geography, Corey is a freak ( I use that term lovingly). He loves talking about facts of different countries, states and cities. He knows the most random trivia about the United States. Every time the boys and I break this puzzle out we have to have Corey nearby to help us complete where the dumb pieces go. Corey is at work so I refuse to help.
