Crazy Boys - Crazy Bedrooms

Right along with our painting theme - we moved on up into the boy's rooms to put the finishing touches on the 1/2 way started projects. Luke convinced me it was a good idea to paint his room a very dark and bright blue color. 4 coats later - I was ready to jump ship! Colby's room is a bit eclectic, kind of like his personality - a bit all over the place.

I hope Luke is well attached to the Cougars, because his room will be blue when he brings his children back for visits. The green paint is over magnetic paint. Those are magnets on the wall. When I really finish his room, you will see the green rectangle transformed into a football field. So just use your imagination to see that there are white lines and numbers on the field. Luke was trying to describe to me how he wanted his goal posts painted and drawn at an angle to make them look like they were standing and 3-dimensional. I told him I can do squares. That's it. Straight lines.

Colby is forever changing his favorite team. When I bought the paint it was the Tennessee Volunteers. Once I got it up on the wall he wanted to see the sample color because he was convinced it was a shade lighter than the actual bright orange he picked out. Now he wants and Oregon Ducks poster next to his T to complete his room.

Of course the Volunteers and Ducks are facing the monsters from Where the Wild Things Are. Remember what I said about eclectic?

I just had to throw in a picture of Lola

Did you paint the wild things? Those rooms are awesome. Where did you get magnetic paint from? So Cool!

I had a lady I found on the internet paint the wild things. It is on canvas and then put up with wall paper adhesive. The magnetic paint came from a paint store. Jones or Sherwinn, I can't remember. It is a thick gray paint with tiny metal particles in it, then you paint over it with whatever color you want.

Incredibly creative and the boys are so cute! That blue wall - I can only imagine what it took. I think I'm retired from painting bright colors. They're hard to put up and even harder to cover over! can't wait to see the rooms in person!
