Lagoon Frightmares

Thanks to my Super Smart Husband, Corey - who was one of the only ones awake at the crack of dawn with his blackberry/email ready to go to answer the morning news trivia question - He won tickets for us to go to Lagoon Frightmares! Thanks Super Smart Early Waker Upper Guy!

We went on Friday afternoon to brave the crowds and ride some rides. It wasn't too crowded until it got dark and then people really started to pile in. We avoided the Frightmare part of the park (just some spook alleys and trick or treating for the kids - it probably didn't even come close to comparing with The Haunted Forest). We hit all the major rides the boys wanted to go on and then some.

This picture is right before we rode the first big roller coaster of the day. It takes Colby just a minute to figure out if this is a good idea or not.

Corey's freakish numbers and counting tick has rubbed off on to Luke. They were obsessive about timing the rides to see how long they ran for. I caught Luke with his fingers ready to hit the start button to his timer.

What a handsome bunch.

The last ride we went on was one of the craziest ones there. Colossus, The Fire Dragon. It does two loops to put you upside down, crazy turns, drops... it has all the classic fun roller coaster parts. It took a bit of bribery to get Colby to consent to riding it. While we waited in line, Colby wouldn't let anyone talk to him because he "was nervous" and wanted to mentally prepare for the ride. The ride starts and he screams to me "I don't think this was such a good idea!" :-) By the end of the ride he was sold on how TOTALLY AWESOME the ride was. We proceeded to get off the ride and jump right back in line to ride it just one more time before we headed home.

Scary rides are a piece of cake!
