Mother of the Year!

Wednesday is early out day around here from school. Let me tell you, I am not a big fan. I have been late picking Luke up more times than I can count on these stupid Wednesday's. He starts walking and I usually remember and catch him when he is 2/3 of the way home.
Here it is Wednesday, and I am on my way to pick up Colby from Kindergarten right on schedule (if it was not early out day - darn it!) I get a phone call my from my sweet Colby who is sitting in the office with the other forgotten Kindergartner's waiting for their mom's to come get them 20 minutes AFTER school gets out. Blasted early out day!

Sorry Baby, next week Mom will try to be on there time.

Ha ha...so Katie isn't the only one who forgets her kids on wednesdays. That will make her feel better. How's Mr. Darcy's Diary??

Katie called to give me a hard time about leaving him and to agree that she feels better knowing she IS NOT the only one who does it. I LOVE LOVE Mr. Darcy's Diary - I just finished it, bummer.

I am not a fan of early out day either--unless I am teaching that day. I had to start setting my alarm on my phone to remind me that it is stupid early out day. Bugga.......

This early out day . . . it happens every Wednesday? If so, why is it so hard to remember? If I got to get out of anything early on a regular basis, I would have no problem remembering!

It is regular, but for some reason it is impossible to remember. I guarantee this will not be the last time I am late. It cuts my day short, maybe sub-consciously I am rebelling against it.

I did remember to pick up my kids on time today but that's because I brought Tessa 20 minutes late for Kindergarten! I dropped her off and the kids weren't lined up and we were early even! And then it struck me--Today is Wednesday! It's a double whammy with a kindergartener, because not only is it early out--it is early in!
